Imagine hiking through an amazing Andean landscape of glacial lakes, deep red cliffs, sparkling glaciers and relaxing hot springs. Most of the local inhabitants speak the ancient Quechuan language with little or no Spanish. They dress in beautiful hand woven ponchos and take care of their herds of llamas and alpacas. We may also be able to observe native fauna, such as the marmot like Vizcacha and herds of rare Vicuña (a wild relative of the llama). We will observe high Andean birds, such as geese, puna ibis, caracara hawks, torrent ducks and the majestic Andean Condor.
